Dear Parents/Guardians and Middle School Students,

My name is Ms. Dinning, and I am excited to be teaching your child.  I respect and appreciate any apprehension or ambivalence you may have as we begin a new year full of changes due to Covid-19. Whether your family has opted for Hybrid instruction or Virtual instruction, I want you to know that I am dedicated to meeting your child’s needs during these unique times. I appreciate your trust in me as we face these new challenges in education together. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns.

What you can expect from our middle school teachers:

·     Students will receive core (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) instruction through
Google Classroom.

·     Students should login each day (attendance will be taken) to check for assignments and instructions from each teacher.

·     Students will receive small group instruction either through Google Meet or in person (schedule will be announced in the coming week).

·     Teachers will post relevant materials to support students as they complete independent and small group tasks.

What teachers expect from your middle school student:

·     Students must login to each of their Google Classrooms at the same time and on a daily basis.

·     Students need to complete all required assignments and submit these for a grade as directed by
each teacher.

·     Students must have a clean and organized area to work that is free from distractions.

·     Students must ask questions and communicate with each teacher so that we can help students learn.

How can parents/guardians help?

·     Please help your child have a routine schedule each day-wakeup time, food, school, homework, and bedtime.

·     Check that your child is completing all assignments and submitting these to their teacher in a timely manner.

·     Monitor what your child is working on while on the computer.

·     Check your phone messages and email messages often to maintain communication with each teacher
